The Onix Dura Fast: a Complicated Love Story

One of the thorniest conversations in pickleball is around the ball itself. The leading ball among competitive players is the Onix Dura Fast 40. While the Club has embraced the Dura for all Club-organized events, it's not without some hesitation. That's because even the most ardent supporters of the Dura will admit that it is not the most durable ball on the market.

The Dura, well known for going out of round and ultimately cracking, can definitely be temperamental. But for most people the speed, bounce height, and flight path of the Dura keep it out in front of slower but more durable balls like the Onix Fuse G2.

Other leading contenders for Club support are the Franklin X40 and the Engage Tour. We will continue to evaluate these balls, along with the Dura. In the meantime, we encourage you to try the Dura. The good news is that if you can play with the Dura, you can play with absolutely anything!

As an Onix Court Dealer, we have the ability to offer the lowest retail price available on Dura balls. Click here to order balls. We are packaging them in half-dozen and dozen increments. Send an email to cincinnatipickleball@gmail.com with any questions!
